AMARANTH (PORRIDGE) with RASBERRIES, BANNAS & SUNFLOWER SEEDS

QUICK BREAKFAST FOR ALL AGES

Adding fruit & nuts to a bowl of hot cream of grain cereal is quick, easy and can be a fun breakfast for children. It is very delicious and nutritious for all ages.

INGREDIENTS:                                                                                                                                 

3 tbsps. to 1 cup water- AMARANTH (porridge)

[Other grain cereals: FARINA, CREAME OF WHEAT/ RICE or OATMEAL]

1 cup to 3 tbsps. WATER­

5 BANNANA SLICES

5 RASBERRIES

1tsp. SUNFLOWER SEEDS

1 tsp. BUTTER, MARGERINE or COCONUT OIL (optional)

SPICES:

DASH OF SALT

SWEETENER (HONEY, AGAVE or SUGAR)

1/8 tsp. CINNAMON

UTENSILES:

1-2 quart or more POT {depends on how much cereal per person}

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Boil water, add salt, and slowly stir in cream cereal. Lower the temperature, cover and simmer until cereal is thick.
  2. Remove from heat and stir until creamy. Pour into a bowl. Add butter, sweeteners & cinnamon, stir. Top with banana slices, raspberries and sprinkle sunflower seeds. Enjoy!
