Black History Black Love Was Celebrated by WPGC

The bond between African-American couples has kept the Black Community strong for generations! WPGC’s Black History Black Love panel discussion celebrated black love and these couples showed that strong relationships still exist in the Black Community.

The panel discussion was hosted and moderated by Todd B of WPGC and Shantell Jamison of EBONY at DC Lottery Live!! This panel featured six amazing couples with such powerful love stories. The panelists included the following:

Newlyweds Alfred and Sherrell Duncan

Ez Tommy and Sarah O’Connor

Willie and Dee Jolley

Roach and Mertine Brown

Newlyweds Pastor Dante King and Elder/Dr. Kym Lee-King

Joe and Nyemah Clair

Topics for panelists focused on everything from finances to careers to communication.  Speaker and Author Willie Jolley shared his 10 principles of love which was very thought provoking and beneficial for a healthy relationship. WPGC’s Joe Clair shared with everyone how he balances his career as a Radio Personality and Comedian with his family.

After all the panelists spoke about their relationship and answered the audience’s questions, the event was graced with none other than, Grammy-nominated Raheem DeVaughn and Emcee/Singer Wes Felton, known as, CrossRhodes performed their “conscious hip-hop,” and also paid tribute to Black Love and Black History!
