It is virtually impossible to go anywhere and not hear Cheryl Lynn’s music, on the radio, at the club, in commercials, on television or at the movies. However, Cheryl Lynn has shown that she is as talented on stage as she is on her recordings. She has dazzled audiences for decades with her strong, sultry vocals and shows no signs of slowing down as she continues to perform today to rave reviews.

Cheryl Lynn’s career began in 1976 with her role as Wicked Witch of the West while on tour with the acclaimed musical The Wiz. That same year, she also appeared on national television receiving a perfect score for an outstanding singing performance on The Gong Show. After that exposure, she signed with Columbia Records and achieved immediate success with her debut single “Got To Be Real”, a million selling #1 smash hit that was popular on the R&B, dance and pop charts.

Lynn enjoyed continued success through the 1980s while making a big impact on the music charts with twelve Top 40 hits, eight Top 20 hits and four that reached Top 5, including the dance hit “Shake It Up Tonight” produced by Ray Parker Jr. and the memorable duet with Luther Vandross of the classic song “If This World Were Mine.” Lynn also had another #1 smash hit “Encore”, one of the most requested classic dance hits especially the extended live version which is a club favorite.
