I’m back, its Millie with Millie in the City Matchmaking. Now, in just two weeks, Millie’s Corner has become the number one dating and relationship forum in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. Now that we have gotten that out the way, let’s discuss single men and what they are looking for in a potential mate more importantly, what they are NOT looking for. This article is called: Dating Down.
I would like to first define some terms on this dating down thing. So, dating up is scoring someone “better” than you. Dating down is typically appropriate when a man dates someone else who is considered “not good enough” for them. The entire idea of dating down or up is horrible. First off, it is a rotten thing to say about someone else and their relationship. You don’t know what or who works! One man’s loser is another man’s Gift from God. If the woman is the so called loser she just might happen to be going through a rough patch or simply hasn’t been taught what the right thing to do is or the right way to act. And yet, it’s an insightful consequence for how women are being measured.
I interviewed a successful 28-year old man the other day and he expressed to me that he had a woman interested in him that has multiple children, is 40 years old, has bad credit, and according to him, is thirsty.  He said, she is cool and fun to hang around with, but he could never be serious about her, in regards to a serious relationship, because she has no credentials. In other words, he felt that he was dating down. In other conversations with other single and newly married men, they all agreed that they do not wish to date down.
So with all of this being said, men are looking for a woman who is pretty much a good match and brings the same things to the table as they do. Don˜t get discouraged if you run into this type of relationship or situation. Have fun and enjoy the moment but understand that you will one day meet the perfect match for you!!
I would truly appreciate any comments you may have on this subject where you agree or disagree or if you are in between on your opinion. Please leave your comment below in the comment section. This has been Millie’s corner, pretty deuces yall! Until next week!
