President Obama Will Return Home To Chicago To Give His Farewell Address

President Obama just confirmed that he’ll be giving his farewell address to the nation in Chicago, his hometown, on January 10.

In a statement released Monday, Obama said he’s “just beginning to write my remarks” but is “thinking about them as a chance to say thank you for this amazing journey, to celebrate the ways you’ve changed this country for the better these past eight years, and to offer some thoughts on where we all go from here.

“Since 2009, we’ve faced our fair share of challenges, and come through them stronger,” Obama continued in his statement. “That’s because we have never let go of a belief that has guided us ever since our founding — our conviction that, together, we can change this country for the better.

Obama launched his political career in the Windy City and started a family there before moving to Washington. According to NPRhis presidential library will be located in Jackson Park, the site of the 1893 World’s Fair, near the University of Chicago where Obama once taught.

Side note: Are we positive Trump’s election wasn’t just a collective nightmare and that Obama will just put up camp in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for forever? Like, 100 percent sure?
