Word has it that Bruno Mars is about to sprinkle some of his 24K Magic on Janet Jackson.

According to a report from MetroUK, the two superstars and mutual fans are in the studio working on Janet’s upcoming studio album:

An insider said Bruno was ecstatic upon finding out that his icon was a fan of his work. The source said: “The pair have been friends for a while but decided now is the perfect time for them to collaborate after catching up at the Billboard Music Awards. Bruno was raised on Janet’s music and was floored when he found out that she was a fan.

“They speak on the phone often and have penciled dates in to record tracks for Janet’s next album.”

Janet, who recently said that Bruno’s music is the first her one-year-old son Eissa connected with, currently lives in London and is expected to record a single there with Bruno and her the production team that helped rocket her to stardom with her 1986 album “Control.”

Janet made a big splash last month at the Billboard Music Awards, where she picked up the Icon Award – becoming the first black female artist to do so. Bruno introduced her performance.
